Microsoft Office Is Getting Rid of Clip Art: A tribute to a beloved Microsoft Office feature. However, if you have favorite pieces of Clip Art, you should save them before they disappear, as Microsoft Office is getting rid of Clip Art! The blog post states that existing images saved to devices, OneDrive, and SharePoint will still be available after the Clip Art Library is discontinued. In addition, images that have been downloaded and inserted into existing documents will remain. Note that you can still use the Bing Image Search to search for “clip art” as the search term, if you are still interested in using vector-based illustrations within your documents and presentations. However, users must verify this information if switching the settings of the Bing Search Engine to widen the search results to display all images, instead of the default type of images. A link to the license will be available, so that users can verify if the images they wish to use can be utilized within their documents. The post states “Customers also still have the ability to add images to their documents using Bing Image Search.” The images returned by using the Bing Image Search are tagged with the Creative Commons license, allowing for their use within Office documents. While users still have access to clip art, for the moment, it can be assumed from this announcement that the feature will be deprecated by a possible future update to the existing Office products. According to the blog post, users have steadily stopped using the Clip Art Library in favor of using images from search engine results. Clip Art, first introduced in 1986 and then integrated into the Microsoft Office suite in Office 97, is the vector-based, “cartoon” art available for use in most of the Office applications, such as Word and PowerPoint. Microsoft Office Is Getting Rid of Clip Art in Favor of Bing Image Īs noted in the blog post “ Clip Art now powered by Bing Images,” by the Office365 Team on the Office Blogs site, Microsoft Office is getting rid of Clip Art from its Office products. Sorry to go all inventory on you, but Shmoop loves lists:īetrayal. Julius Caesar is jam-packed with issues that resonate with our world today. Nothing gets our attention quite like a good, juicy political scandal. What is Julius Caesar About and Why Should I Care? Julius Caesar is also considered to be the least sexy of Shakespeare's dramatic works, which, for some, makes it a "safe" option in classrooms full of teenagers. The relatively straightforward language and simplicity of plot make it a good starting point for students new to 16th-century drama. Today, along with Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar is often taught in 9th grade classrooms as an introduction to Shakespeare. Apparently that's what kids did in the days before TV and the Internet.) ![]() (In fact, Elizabethan schoolboys spent most of their time reading and translating ancient Roman and Greek literature. This is no big surprise, since Shakespeare and his contemporaries were completely obsessed with Roman culture and politics. Shakespeare' s main source for the play is Plutarch's famous biography The Life of Julius Caesar, written in Greek in the 1st century and translated into English in 1579 by Sir Thomas North. Would chaos ensue when Elizabeth died? Who would take the queen's place? Would the next monarch be a fit ruler or a tyrant? In other words, Julius Caesar asks its audience to think about the parallels between ancient Roman history and contemporary politics. When Shakespeare wrote Caesar, it was pretty obvious that the 66-year-old Queen Elizabeth I (1533-1603) wasn't going to produce an heir to the throne, and her subjects were stressed out about what would happen upon the monarch's death. Like the history plays, Julius Caesar gives voice to some late-16th-century English political concerns. Shakespeare wrote the play around 1599, just after he had completed a series of English political histories. Julius Caesar was most likely the first play performed at the Globe Theater. Shakespeare portrays Caesar's assassination on the Ides of March (March 15) by a group of conspirators who feared the ambitious leader would turn the Roman Republic into a tyrannical monarchy. Fun times-guess they should have thought their plans through a little more. As movie posters and book covers like to say, the play is "based on a true story": the historical events surrounding the conspiracy against the ancient Roman leader Julius Caesar (c.100-44B.C.) and the civil war that followed his death. Approximately 25-30% of Americans do not have a credit card, and making it more expensive or difficult for them to rent cars may be unnecessary when they are able to cover the cost without going into debt. Why are rental companies adjusting their regulations to allow for people to pay for cars with debit cards? It comes down to accessibility. The good news is that some agencies are relaxing their rules and making it easier for people to rent using debit cards. ![]() For many years, a credit card has been the preferred method of payment for all rental agencies. Another consideration is that brake light sub-looms often have much thinner wires than the bike side of the loom plug. If it does, you can tap the green/white to feed your relay if you want, though black/brown is still the favoured option otherwise if your brake light switch ever needs changing or just un-plugging, you can't because you've made a permanent connection the wrong side of the plug. So the answer at face value is plug in the loom connector and confirm that the green/yellow passes straight through and the black/brown turns into green/white to feed the brake light switch. So, presumably one wire is the power and the other the switched live to complete the circuit, but, which is which? I vaguely recall reading somewhere that the brown/black is switched live for Honda, which would make the green/yellow the power. The wiring diagram shows a brown/black wire going to the switch and a yellow/green wire from the switch going to the brake and tail light. The bike side of the LOOM PLUG has a green/ yellow striped wire and a brown/black striped wire and the switch side OF THE PLUG has a green/yellow striped wire and a white wire with a thin green line. The chosen 'thing' will have it's ground connection either direct to frame or the battery negative terminal (I wouldn't recommend connecting to any Green wires if it wants high current.) and its positive feed from one of the relay switched terminals. So relay has a coil side (which will be connected to the ignition controlled power) and a switch side (which will feed power from the battery to the 'thing')īased on the kindly provide circuit diagram I would suggest connecting the coil side of relay to Brown/Black (ignition controlled power) and ground (direct to frame or Green on the diagram) It's high current so you don't want it to draw power from the ignition circuit directly but instead get power from the battery and control when it gets power via a relay. I tell you what, mathematically, I'm having itĭo you have a 'thing' that needs power. So the question I was actually asking (as opposed to the one you answered) was which of the wires on the "switch" side of the block to use. If the brown/black is carrying power when the ignition is live, on the "bike" side of the connector block, it must also be carrying power on the "switch" side. So if you want the relay to be energised only when you pull the brake thats the one to go for, if not listen to Pete.īoth wires entering the switch can't be energised by the switch though. Yes it is a switched live, switched by the brake light switch so will only be live when you pull the brakes. Apologies if I am being dense here, but doesn't the green/yellow go from the switch to the brake light (it looks like it on the diagram), the brown/black feeds the switch, but connects to the green/white on the "switch" side of the connector, so the green/white is also the switched live (just on the other side of the connector)? |
